She's on a great basket ball team, she's friends with all the popular girls, and most of all, no one knows her background. But who nominated her for a scholarship? Her quiet crush? The mysterious stranger in the woods? Even more puzzling, who is sending her hurtful, anonymous, messages? Worst of all, how long can she pretend she's someone she's not?

Queen of the Sea by Dylan Meconis is a delightful tale about a young orphaned girl, named Margaret, that has lived at a convent all her life. A mysterious prisoner arrives at the convent, and as they befriend each other, Margaret begins to unravel the mystery of who she really is.

The reading specialist at Hazel's school recently told me she heard that at least 50% of what kids read should be nonfiction. Do your kids read nonfiction? Hazel actually loves biographies and historical books. One series that she loves is the Who Was Series. This series is for the middle grades or ages 8-12. Today we get to share two fun books from this series. These two characters are paired together in an episode on the Netflix Who Was? Series. We will be sharing Who Was Albert Einstein? and Who Was Joan of Arc? Hazel was very excited to read these books and she will be doing a Hazel's corner on Joan of Arc.

Last month I got to share with you the wonderful journaling Bible I have. Hazel was very jealous of this fun way to read God's word. However Wee Believers has saved me from sharing or purchasing another one. They have an amazing new line called Let Your Light Shine that is perfect for 8+ year old girls. I showed Hazel their collection and let her pick which items she liked best. She chose the Joy Devotional Journal and matching Joy Medium Accessory Case

Have you noticed that good manners seem to be disappearing in our society? Manners are taught and usually they are learned at home. Even if schools try to teach them, if they are not used at home, it does not do much good and with today's school there is not time to really teach good manners. Today we are sharing a book that helps teach good manners and other social skills. It is Sip Tea with Mad Hatter by Loretta Neff and illustrated by Anirban Mitra.
